Sandeep Singh is a powerhouse in tax controversy and litigation. A former litigator for the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Office of Chief Counsel and holder of an LL.M. in Taxation, Sandeep brings to every matter the rare perspective of someone who has crafted the government’s litigation strategy from the inside.
During his tenure as an IRS Chief Counsel attorney, Sandeep dissected and dismantled arguments advanced by taxpayers and their lawyers, evaluated the government’s strategic position, coordinated complex issues with the IRS National Office in Washington, D.C., and tried cases on behalf of the United States. His command of tax law and strategic acumen led to numerous high-stakes settlements, often eliminating the need for trial, as well as multiple courtroom victories.
With extensive experience across the full spectrum of federal tax enforcement, Sandeep has represented clients in IRS audits, criminal tax investigations, collection actions, and tax litigation before the U.S. Tax Court, Federal District Courts, and the U.S. Court of Federal Claims.
Sandeep’s effectiveness stems not only from deep tax expertise but also from a broad and battle-tested litigation background. He has represented clients in trust and estate disputes, commercial litigation, and real estate matters, and has served judges in both state circuit and federal district courts, giving him a 360-degree view of how cases are won.
A top graduate of the University of Maryland School of Law, Sandeep also brings the discipline and leadership of a decorated U.S. Army veteran. He served five years as an Infantry Paratrooper, leading an infantry platoon with precision and resilience traits he now brings to high-stakes legal advocacy. Multilingual in Punjabi, Hindi, and Urdu, he serves clients across diverse communities with cultural fluency and unwavering commitment.
Sandeep also contributes to the advancement of the profession as an Adjunct Professor at Golden Gate University School of Taxation, teaching graduate-level tax law. Locally, he was appointed by the Concord City Council to chair the Residential Rent Review Board, where he applies his legal expertise in service of the community.
